Day 4 - Nyungwe Forest
Depart for Nyungwe Forest, where the h
ighlands provide a unique habitat for thirteen species of primates, including chimpanzees, l’Hoest’s and owl-faced monkeys.  Take a walk under the canopy of majestic trees, follow chimps as they race through the tree tops, observe some of the 400 Colobus monkeys feeding on wild figs and jumping from branch to branch. This high altitude jungle floor boasts some of the most beautiful and exquisite orchids in the world. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay are at Nyungwe Forest.

Day 6 - Lake Kivu and Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lakeshore or take an early morning swim before a leisurely drive to Gisenyi. There is plenty of opportunity for wandering through the local village market places. Day 7 - Mountain Gorillas and Volcanoes National Park
We arise with the sun, have breakfast, and meet with a ranger guide before setting off into the gorilla sanctuary with a packed lunch. The rain forest landscape is steep and densely forested, but criss-crossed with animal trails allowing access to humans. The trek to spy on the earth’s greatest primate can take several hours of challenging walking in the wet and muddy conditions, but the thrill of discovering this gentle giant in its own habitat is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. For their safety, the maximum time allowed with the gorillas will be one hour. Trek back to your accommodations with memories forever embedded in your mind. Dinner and overnight near the Volcanoes National Park.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Accommodations: Lodge or Guesthouse

Day 8 Depart
Enjoy the views and stop for photos of Bulera and Ruhondo lakes on the trip back to Kigali. Upon arrival, visit the genocide memorial, a tribute to the millions of people killed in the civil war in the 1990’s.  Following lunch, transfer to the airport for your departure from Rwanda.
